I was asked this question today. My answer (“there is only one answer to that question”) got a highly charged reaction, and I was called everything from bigot to anti-islamist to “hater”.
Of course, there is only one answer to that question, but some people don’t seem to know it. So here’s a crash course in Ambrahamic Religion 101: God and Allah are the same entity. I don’t mean that in any vague “there can only be one God” way, I mean that scripturally, Allah *is* Yahweh, the god of the Jews and the Christians. Islam and Christianity are simply two different daughter religions from the Jewish religion.
Any muslim knows this, of course, since Abraham, Moses and Jesus are important prophets in Islam. But a shocking number of Christians seem to be completely unaware that Islam and Christianity are related in a way a bit like Catholicism and Protestantism – two versions of the same basic religion.
The sooner people realize this, the sooner it will dawn on people that the whole “my god versus your god” is ridiculous. It just gives the contrasting cultures in East and West more reasons to fight. Quit it.
No it is not. one can think whatever one wants to but that does’nt change the reality.
Compare the attributes of both as per written scriptures & then compare the actions of their followers & the difference willl be crystal clear.
Did I say there was no difference? No. I said that there is a relationship between the two and a lot of common ground. You can try and reject that all you want, but it’s true.
Actually God wouldnt have to do anything as there is no hard evidence of allah ever even existing. yet the evidence of God is everywhere. And why do people get mad when someone mentions God to them? because they know its true! everyone does. the people who dont belive are simply lying to themselves…

I had to approve the above comment because it embodies so much of what I think is so dangerous: ignorance in religion. It contains ignorance of the historical connection between the Abrahamic religion, a completely unfounded assertion (evidence of God is everywhere), poor logic (if evidence of God is everywhere, surely it’s the same evidence that muslims use to prove Allah?), projective psychology (why do people get mad? because everyone knows it’s true) and a gigantic crutch at the end: “people who don’t believe are lying to themselves.” He might as well have written “Please let me be right, pleasepleaseplease”
